Dr. Ron Levin has a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and is currently an
Engineering Fellow at Raytheon in El Segundo, California where he works on
signal processing software. During the NASA Viking Lander missions Ron spent the summer of 1976
with his father Gilbert at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California where he
witnessed many of the important moments of the Viking Mission. Ron has traveled to twenty
Mars science conferences in support of his father Gilbert's astrobiology work.

Dr. Gilbert V. Levin - Science Advisor and Consultant (In Memoriam):
Dr. Levin was the second scientist funded by
NASA to build a life detection instrument for planetary
missions to Mars. Dr. Levin has been a co-investigator
for NASA's Mariner 9 misson to Mars in 1971; a Principal
Investigator for the Viking Biology Team in 1976; a JPL
Mox Team co-experimenter on the Russian Mars 96 mission
to Mars. In 1997 Dr. Levin concluded that his biology
data from the surface of Mars in 1976 indicated the
presence of living microorganisms. Dr. Levin is a honorary
professor at the Buckingham Centre for Astrobiology in UK (Homepage).

Dr. Patricia Ann Straat - Science Advisor and Consultant (In Memoriam):
Dr. Straat was co-experimenter on the Viking Labeled Release life detection experiment
that NASA sent to Mars in 1976. She also participated as a co-experimenter on the
NASA 1971 Marnier 9 mission to Mars.
